"Then the carousel started, and I watched her go round and round...All the kids tried to grap for the gold ring, and so was old Phoebe, and I was sort of afraid she's fall off the goddam horse, but I didn't say or do anything. The thing with kids is, if they want to grab for the gold ring, you have to let them do it, and not say anything. If they fall off, they fall off...."  ~ J.D. Salinger

“Ever since I was a little kid, there used to be the Carnival that used to pass.” ~Wyclef Jean

Everything being a constant carnival, there is no carnival left. ~Victor Hugo

My favorite part of a roller-coaster ride is when you're going up and you're slightly scared and really excited. You don't know what's coming next but you know it's going to be good. ~ Gina Gershon

“Carnies built this country, the carnival part of it anyway.” ~Homer Simpson

"And the seasons, they go round and round,/ And the painted ponies go up and down./ We're captive on the carousel of time." ~ Joni Mitchell

This is for Seedsowers's Self Portrait Challenge Week 4: Subject-motion

These first three photos were taken in low light (hence the graininess)
using a Pentax Optio W90.
Post processing was done with Photoshop.

These last two were taken with the webcam on a netbook using Webcam Scanner Camera.

Peanut butter and sweet pickles

Hap told me about this tasty sandwich made with

sweet pickles and peanut butter.

It was really good and I'll make it again.
Next time I'll slice the sweet pickles a little thicker.
Thank you for the tip Hap!

Flounder

I met Flounder on the side of a country road.
He was sitting alone on a pile of dirt.
He greeted me with a big smile on his face
and was happy to pose for this picture.

Zeal4living suggested Flounder might have more fun playing with children.
I thought that was a great idea so I stopped by and discussed it with Flounder.
He was excited about Zeal4living's plan.

This is a picture of Flounder at the top of the slide in Noble park awaiting his turn.
