I was really surprised yesterday to come across this momma duck
standing guard over her two ducklings
on the side of the road near a scuzzy old pond.
The pond appears to be an old catch pond for industrial waste water.

These aren't very good pictures,
but I wanted to show you this flock.
I've never seen so many black vultures together and
couldn't get them all in one picture.

There was several groups spread along the side of the road.
Looked like around forty in all.

I think they were drinking water from the ditch
since I didn't see or smell anything dead.
