Shiny Rocks V.5

Entertainment

I've watched more TV than I usually do.  I found a few shows I could recommend.
Life has a Zen feel to it.
Touch I can't explain, you just have to watch this.  I give it five stars.
Mr. Nobody is an interesting look at time and multiverses.  I don't believe in time but I do believe in multiverses.

Websites

Lonely Blogs is a site where you can promote your blog if you're into that.  From their site: "We made this website in order to support bloggers from all over the world and the blogger community. It works by reading RSS or Atom feeds that users provide and then links to the newest posts on user's blogs."

StoreDot works with biological self-assembling, non-toxic, organic-based materials. The website is definitely worth a visit.

Goodpeoplebrewing.com is located in Birmingham, Alabama. That is about an hour from where I stay.  BeerAdvocate, a leading voice in the beer community, says the four highest-rated beers in the South are Good People Brewing beers.

Want the best price when traveling? Tingo.com says, "If you book a Price Drop room and the rate drops, we'll refund the difference to your credit card, automatically."

Song Freedom is a site where you can license 'good' music for your videos (if you need it).

Things I Thought

Sometimes I want to tell people to "Walk away while you can."

You have the power to imagine and create a better world.

We imprison ourselves.

Are we weak enough and strong enough to love and be loved?

There are infinite ways to communicate yet many still struggle to communicate basic things:  I want.  I need.  I love.

The tiger and the monkey and the elephant all asked  for you

NOLA

We are heading to New Orleans in May and I maybe going again in June or July.  It's hard to tell about the second trip.  My life is in flux. Anyway, I thought I'd post a few New Orleans pictures to get us in the mood.

Street photography is my favorite and New Orleans is a great place to practice.

Background
People who can see me in non-cyber space know I love shiny rocks.  I pick them up.  I carry them with me. I randomly give them away. I accept them as gifts. They sit on windowsills and tables.
This is the fourth in a series of biweekly features about sharing the gems and jewels I find along the way  (quotes, songs, thoughts, notes, websites, photos i take, photos I see).   I hope you like the shiny cyber rocks. I may update Shiny Rocks all during the day as I come across new shiny things.
If you have some shiny rocks you'd like to share leave them in the comments.   Let me know what you think.
May truth, love, and light embrace you and emanate from you.

Has Fallen

The tree was 123 inches around where it was measured.
That wasn't at the base.
At this point they are around 10 feet off the ground.

Some of the wood will be used for firewood.

Back at the Hut

We are all safely back from an exciting week in New Orleans.

Waiting on the train

It was awesome!

I thought settling back into 'everyday' life would be a little difficult (it usually is).

The sun peeks through the clouds over Lake Pontchartrain

But it wasn't this time.  I got up and went to work.  I was a bit behind and played catch up most the day.  The time passed quickly and it was time to leave.

 Push to open

There was a lot to do after work too.  I had a huge pile of mail at the post office.  I sorted through all that and I picked up some food so I could cook supper.   I made red beans and rice.  That seemed an appropriate after NOLA supper.  As a bonus there are leftovers for another day.

The food in the dining car was excellent as usual.

A lot happened at work while I was gone.  I'm glad I missed it.  Several people were suspended and/or fired.  It will be interesting to see how things shake out over the next few weeks.

Life is full of strange things.  When I got back I read an ecard from my ex.  She said she made a horrible mistake all those years ago, loves me, and wants me back.  I can't fix that for her.  She went out to dance and it seems she is finally having to pay the band.  I'm sorry she can't find a love to suit her.  I know that pain.  I lived with it a long time.  Finally I accepted my status and now I happily journey along alone or with my friends.  I fully expect to metamorph to the next stage of life alone somewhere on the side of the road in the back of an RV.

A Super Saturday

Posted on 7:50 PM by jr cline | 0 comments

Today was a fun day.  It went kind of as planned but took some twists and turns along the way.

Christy, Jeremy, and Jesse came over this morning for a visit.  Jeremy was going to cut firewood from the huge tree that fell in the back woods. Christy, Jesse, and I played in the yard.  We left Jeremy with the tree and went back to Christy's house.  She got ready to go shopping.  Jeremy came home.  Christy and I went to town to pick up a few things.

Last stop on the shopping trip was the grocery store.   We didn't buy peanut butter, but I took the picture anyway.

   Sidewalk Chalk

While Christy fixed supper, I played with Jesse in his room.

The last picture I took today was of these two Angry Birds.  They look kind of crazed and dangerous in the dim light.  In reality they are fuzzy slippers.

Road Rash

Posted on 8:00 PM by jr cline | 1 comments

My teacher/friend fell down today and got up with some road rash on his nose. He wouldn’t hold hands. He thought he was a big boy and could do it on his own.
When Christy told me about it, all the times I thought I was a big boy and didn’t need to hold hands suddenly flashed in my mind. Not as individual events, but one big flash.
Seems this lesson has been taught to me over and over and over and over. Why I keep forgetting how much I need to hold hands beats me. I keep thinking I’m a big boy and can do it by myself. How stupid can one person be?

DO OVER

Illusion's  teacher/friend fell down today and got up with some road rash on Illusion's nose. Illusion wouldn’t hold hands. Illusion thought Illusion was a big boy and could do it on Illusion's own.
When Illusion told Illusion about it, all the times Illusion thought Illusion was a big boy and didn’t need to hold hands suddenly flashed in Illusion's mind. Not as individual events, but one big flash.
Seems this lesson has been taught to Illusion over and over and over and over. Why Illusion keeps forgetting how much Illusion needs to hold hands beats Illusion. Illusion keeps thinking Illusion is a big boy and can do it by Illusion's self.

How stupid can one Illusion be?

Dichotomy?  What dichotomy?

30 day challenge, day 17

Posted on 4:29 AM by jr cline | 0 comments

Day 17- something that has made a huge impact in your life recently.

This was difficult one for me.  So many things in my life have changed in the last year: both my parents died, my son moved out to live in Atlanta, my dog died, and there are others.
The most recent 'something' that has made a huge impact in my life is this family.
Jeremy, Christy, and Jesse have been sharing a living space with me for the last few months.  Going from living alone to living in a family setting was a big change for all four of us.

Fun times!
